No Impact Week

This week, the HuffPost and the No Impact Project have teamed up for No Impact Week, which really began yesterday, October 18.  The No Impact Project calls this week a “One-Week Carbon Cleanse.”  The goal is for us to become more aware of our lifestyle and how we can change it so that we reduce our environmental impact.  Besides being good for the environment and making us all more eco-conscious, it sounds like a fun thing to do.  You can sign up here.

Download and check out the guide to No Impact Week here.

The week started with “buying less stuff.”  Today’s challenge is “Find out if wasting less improves your life.”

I’m going to check out tips for Monday as I munch on some breakfast and see how I make out.

Blog Action Day 2009 Climate Change

Learn more about Blog Action Day. A little bit more about this day:

First and last, the purpose of Blog Action Day is to create a discussion. We ask bloggers to take a single day out of their schedule and focus it on an important issue.

By doing so on the same day, the blogging community effectively changes the conversation on the web and focuses audiences around the globe on that issue

This year’s topic is climate change. Check out the site and do what you can to help keep the environment we all share clean.

350.org’s Blog Action Day

Please check out 350.org’s site with more information about the International Day of Climate Action on October 24th.

You may ask, “What is 350?”

350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide—measured in “Parts Per Million” in our atmosphere. 350 PPM—it’s the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.

Check out the site and if there are any Action events in your area, check them out, too.

Also, check out http://brighterplanet.com for conservation tips and information about how to reduce your carbon footprint. There website is simple and clean, they have lots of tips and are how I found out about Blog Action Day. It’s nice that they send you the occasional newsletter but never bombard you with unwanted email or so many emails that you are ready to mark all their mail as spam. Nice work on this site, and I suggest you check it out.
